Just upgraded Outlook for Mac to v15.20 as part of an Office 365 subscription. I like the new text formatting options (this has been a bugbear for me for a while), but notice that the default paragraph spacing for new emails is set to 8 pt - and I can't find a way to change it. Personally I don't like paragraph spacing in emails, so has anyone found a way to set the default back to 0 (and yes, I still want to send HTML emails, not plain text)? Avast boot scan log location. I can set the default font but this doesn't seem to affect the paragraph spacing. And while we're on the subject, right-clicking in the message body when composing an email shows the keyboard shortcut for Format-Paragraph is Option-Command-M, but for me this minimises the window (same as Command-M).
Does anyone else get the same? This is really frustrating to me as well.
From what I can tell, this 6 points before and after paragraph spacing was just foisted on me in the May 2016 update—I don't think it was the case until then. I see references to how to fix this on the Windows platform, using the Change Styles button (such as ), but this isn't an option on the Mac 2016 platform. Just for clarity, here's a screenshot of the paragraph format dialog box (which as Alsoff noted, seems to be only accessible by right-clicking, not via any other menu or shortcut, since CMD OPTION M conflicts with minimizing the window): Microsoft, please address this soon! Thanks, Gary.
If I am not mistaken Outlook Mac had its on built in Text Editor. And Microsoft changed it to use Word as the text editor instead. If this is true Go into Word → Format Menu → Paragraph and using the screen shots shown in one of the previous replies change the 6pt before and after, to 0 pt and make sure the item ' Don't add space between paragraphs of the same style' is also Checked, save changes, then quit Word. If it is like I think it is supposed to be working now, there should now be no extra spaces. __________ Disclaimer: The questions, discussions, opinions, replies & answers I create, are solely mine and mine alone, and do not reflect upon my position as a Community Moderator. Click Line Spacing Options at the bottom of the menu, and then select the options you want in the Paragraph dialog box under Spacing. If you want to change the spacing before or after the selected paragraphs, click the arrow next to Before or After and enter the amount of space that you want. Mar 24, 2010 - While composing mail in Outlook 2010, you may want to adjust the line spacing properly. Mostly users don't look for a quick way to adjust lines.
Hello, I am having the same issue, but it didn't start happening until a few days ago, when the AutoUpdate for Office ran.:( I am also (all of a sudden) having an issue with the graphic in my email signature, where I get an error message when trying to run Outlook, and the graphic isn't visible (has the forbidden red x in the corner of the image frame). Is there any help for us? I have searched high and low for answers that will help Mac users, but to no avail! I am running Outlook 2016 (Office 365) on a 2014 MacBook Pro w/ Retina. Thanks in advance for any advice/solutions! The question was asked about version 15.20, which is long-gone.
The first thing to do is to update Office. Here's how: Make sure your Mac has a working internet connection before checking for updates. Install Mac OS X updates followed by Office updates. Mac OS X updates: To get Mac OS updates, go to the App store on your dock, and then click the Updates button to reveal available updates. Office Updates To get the update: 1. Open any Office application: 3. Make sure your Mac has a working internet connection 4.
Go to the Help menu and choose Check for Updates 5. Let AutoUpdate check for and install updates 6. Restart your Mac If you still have the problem after updating, go to the Outlook menu and choose About Outlook. Note the version number and search to see if others have already started a discussion about the problem concerning the updated version. If you want to start a new question about the new version, please do, but please avoid tacking a new question about a new version to a question about an old version.
