It is preloaded from the factory with two 1GB or 2GB DDR3-1066 SO-DIMMs. You can install a maximum of 16GB with the Eagle Memory 16GB kit (8GB x 2 SO-DIMMs) if you are running OS Lion (10.7) or above. Earlier versions of the operating system are limited to 8GB (4GB x 2 SO-DIMMs.) Non-Stacked IC's: Eagle Memory uses a Non-stacked module for the DDR3-1066 module for the Mac Mini. The cheaper stacked IC variety of SO-DIMM draws more power, which increases heat and can cause increased errors. Eagle Memory only uses premium non-stacked chips.
