When working with Mac OS X Lion or/and Microsoft Lync for Mac, make sure that you have the 14.0.1 update installed for Microsoft Lync for Mac 2011. Download the update from the Download Center at Microsoft Lync for Mac 2011 14.0.1 Update.

The lync_14._.dmg file is downloaded onto your computer.

You'll see two Lync programs there. • Choose the first one, lync__.dmg, to open the installer.

Important: Depending on your Mac settings, the Lync Installer might be blocked from running because it's not from the Mac App Store and identified developers.
