This is definitely as good as I expected it to be.
Here comes the 'but' Well. It just doesn't work. Even after the latest macOS upgrade my MBP still crashes every time it tries to come back from sleep mode. In addition to that the external USB keyboard attached to one of the monitors is not recognized after power is cut of and turned on again. Solution here: unplugging the USB cable from the back of the monitor. Also the sound output doesn't stay on the selected monitor but always switches back to the other one.

Well, there's no other options in the 5K space for this laptop. The screen shows up in a massive box, and once it's unpacked - it's obvious why.
The 5K display is fully assembled, i.e. On its stand, out of the box. Yep, just take it out and plug it in. 1.) There's an Energy Star sticker stuck to the screen itself, which is bewildering. Removing it without making any smudges is all kinds of fun. 2.) Volume leveling is currently broken in OS X as of 10.12.3.
The level set to one volume bar is too quiet, and set to two volume bars is too loud. Anything above that is preposterous. What on earth? Adjustment = micro changes of the volume to at least temporarily alleviate the issue (you'll end up with the volume midway between one bar and two bars - good grief). Thank goodness for this micro adjustment, because how this issue made it past QC boggles my mind 3.) Brightness adjustment is laggy in response when you press the brightness keys on the keyboard. It does work, though, but lagged.
